"So, I was fix'in to put up some paint brushes, and this youngster comes in the store, asking for money for their local '1, 2, 3, Community Newsletter'.TM Ken's department! So I sent him over 'talk to my husband. But after he said his Mom was looking for a friend to help a huge bake sale in our Church Parish. She made me co-Organizer, as soon as I contributed to join, and before long, we had enough monies to seed three other members' little projects! Colorful flowers for all the town's planters; a couple Helpers for Ambulance transport; and seed money for our Town Soup! I was excited! Never done things like that before. Well! then even Ken couldn't stop me: Skipped a month, then came back the next year, and: personally Organized 3 new Groups and out of all the new friends I'd made that inquired of me, from surrounding areas: I Sponsored 4 new Organizers, 15 Free members, did some poster art: & really prideful for me: earned my 4 '1, 2, 3, Volunteer STAMPS!'TM "Visit with me site-wide, 'n follow my Lead! I Promise: you'll be glad you did! ;) -- .

I'm Ken Folksie, and this is my lovely but over-energetic, quite-Tom-boyish -always gets her hands dirty and always loves it- wife Barbara, and together we own the General Store, just down the block, and around the corner from your place. Oh, you've never seen us? Well there are a million business-owners, just like us, around the U. S. who want to see their area revitalized, improved, and prosperous --and want to be a strong part of it all. Folks sick of waiting for others to fix things!

Maybe you know some shop-keepers just like that? --just like us? Maybe you are, even one yourself also?

"Hello everybody! I'm Barbara, 'jus'call me Barb, all my friends do! I've concentrated on much of our people Inviting, helping recruit work-Groups for small building projects, a few town mixers, and black-tie events, and also fundraising friends, that made up much of our Social Services involvement, since we've been here.

And my husband Ken, he, started slower, but-- Well, I'll let him tell his own story below, in a few moments.
